  • 得益于数字平台投资和新产品开发,线上业务和青少英语培训业务推动了美联教育的收入。

- 2020年第三季度线上业务的收入同比增长7%至7,960万元人民币(约1,170万美元)(2019年第三季度:7,430万元人民币);2020年前9个月同比增长25%至2.38亿元人民币(约3,430万美元)(2019年前9个月:1.897亿元人民币)。

- 青少英语培训业务的收入在2020年第三季度环比增长69%至1.241亿元人民币(约1,830万美元)(2019年第三季度:7,330万人民币);2020年前9个月的收入达到2.656亿元人民币(约3,910万美元)(2019年前9个月:2.636亿元人民币),同比增长1%。

  • 截至2020年9月30日,美联教育共有123间线下教育中心投入运营; 截至本公告发布之日,所有线下教育中心均已全面投入运营。
  • 对成本效率的持续优化带动营业成本同比下降13.4%;2020年前9个月的运营费用同比下降39%,公司因而得以缓解部分由新冠肺炎疫情对其盈利能力造成的负面影响。
  • 2020年第三季度调整后的税前息前折旧前摊销前利润下降至910万元人民币(约130万美元)的亏损,比2020年第二季度下降了72.2%;2020年前9个月调整后的税前息前折旧前摊销前利润亏损为1.687亿元人民币(约2,480万美元)。

线上和青少英语培训业务的增长推动了注册学生人数

公司利用重新开放教育中心提供的交叉销售机会带动线上和青少英语培训业务的增长势头,从而提高了该季度整体学生入学率。

截至2020年9月30日,线上课程的注册用户数量同比增加了54%,至171万名注册用户。 同时,公司发现,无论是在线下教育中心还是线上学习平台,青少英语教学客户重新报读的速度都比可支配收入受到新冠肺炎疫情影响的成年客户更快。

这些积极趋势缓解了新冠肺炎疫情对线下入学率的部分负面影响,2020年第三季度的整体学生入学人数同比下降了46 %,而2020年前9个月则下降了53 %。

2020年第三季度的总收现同比下降49%至2.288亿元人民币(约3,370万美元)(2019年第三季度:4.457亿元人民币),但较2020年第二季度增长了42%。 

2020年第三季度青少英語培训业务的收现比上一季度增长了89%,而线上英語培训业务的总收现同比上升了22%。

2020年的前9个月,总收现同比下降56%至5.142亿元人民币(约7,570万美元)(2019年前9个月:11.604亿元人民币)。

线下业务网络全面运营

公司于第三季度继续根据适用的法规指引逐步重开线下教育中心,截至本业绩发布之日,美联教育旗下123间线下教育中心已全部投入运营。线下教育中心的运营模式仍需遵守持续的社交隔离措施和清洁要求,以确保高卫生水平。

持续的产品创新

美联教育持续投资于产品开发,最近更在其线下和线上平台上推出了多款新产品。包括两种新语言(日语、西班牙语和韩语;西班牙语和韩语课程将在12月推出)的培训课程、K12青少教育服务以及面向中学生的“比高”应试培训。

通过精简运营提高效率

在新冠肺炎疫情期间,公司积极节省运营成本,力争在每年减少约1.8亿元人民币(约2,650万美元)开支。此外,公司重新协商了旗下自营教育中心的70份租赁合同(约占总租赁合同的40%),并关闭了22间成人英语教学中心,从而将资源重新部署到青少英语教学和线上英语教学部门。因此,2020年第三季度的净亏损将按季大幅减少至约3,970万元人民币(约580万美元)(2020年第二季度的净亏损为9,340万元)。相关的节流措施将继续进行,公司预期在2021年初实现更精简的成结构,并在线下和线上以及成人和青少年客户群体之间实现更均衡的收入组合。

财务业绩

收入

2020年第三季度,公司收入为2.977亿元人民币(约4,380万美元),同比下降29.6%(2019年第三季度为4.229亿元人民币),但环比增长57.3%(2020年第二季度为1.893亿元人民币)。2020年前三季度录得收入6.686亿元人民币(约9,850万美元),与2019年同期(10.95亿元人民币)相比下降了38.9%,主要是受新冠疫情肺炎的不利影响。

营业成本

公司的营业成本主要包括员工成本、物业支出、折旧和摊销,以及咨询费、与外籍教师相关的行政费用和教材费用等其他成本支出。

2020年第三季度,营业成本同比下降13.4%至1.718亿元人民币(约2,530万美元)(2019年第三季度为1.985亿元人民币),环比增长26.6%(2020年第二季度为1.357亿元人民币)。2020年前三季度的营业成本从2019年同期的5.588亿元人民币降至4.526亿元人民币(约6,670万美元),这主要归功于有效的成本管理措施。

毛利

2020年第三季度,公司毛利润同比下降43.9%至1.259亿元人民币(约1,850万美元)(2019年第三季度为2.244亿元人民币),但由于新冠疫情相关限制的解除使经营条件大幅改善,毛利润环比增长了134.9%(2020年第二季度为5,360万人民币)。受新冠疫情的负面影响,公司2020年前三个季度的毛利润从2019年同期的5.362亿元人民币降至2.16亿元人民币(约3,180万美元)。

公司毛利率在2020年第三季度下降了11个百分点,从2019年同期的53.1%降至42.3%,但环比增长49.4%(2020年第二季度为28.3%)。

运营费用

2020年第三季度的销售和营销费用从2019年第三季度的7,330万元人民币降至8,540万元人民币(约1,260万美元),同比下降13.8%。2020年前9个月的销售和营销费用为2.248亿元人民币(约3,310万美元),较2019年同期(3.233亿元人民币)有所下降,这主要是由于线下教育中心暂时关闭,导致营销活动减少。

2020年第三季度的研发费用同比减少19.9%至630万元人民币(约90万美元),2019年第三季度为790万元人民币。2020年首三季度的研发费用从2019年同期的2,540万元人民币降至2,150万元人民币(约320万美元),这主要归因于新冠肺炎疫情的限制导致部分线下研发活动的减少。

2020年第三季度的一般和行政费用从2019年第三季度的7,330万元人民币增至9,400万元人民币(约1,380万美元)。2020年前9个月的一般和行政费用同比下降10.6%至2.244亿元人民币(约3,310万美元)(2019年前9个月为2.564亿元人民币),主要原因是该季度学习中心暂时关闭及得益于公司的成本控制措施。

经营亏损

2020年第三季度的经营亏损为人民币5,980万元人民币(约880万美元),而2019年第三季度的经营收入为4,430万元人民币。

2020年前9个月的经营亏损为人民币2.547亿元人民币(约3,750万美元),而2019年同期的经营亏损为6,880万元人民币。

净收入/亏损

2020年第三季度的净亏损为3,970万元人民币(约580万美元),而2019年第三季度的净收入为4,190万元人民币,2020年第二季度的净亏损为9,340万元人民币。

2020年前9个月的净亏损为2.348亿元人民币(约3,460万美元),而2019年同期为5,960万元人民币。

现金流

2020年第三季度的经营现金流净流出为6,970万元人民币(约1,030万美元),而2019年第三季度为经营现金流净流入5,640万元人民币,2020年第二季度的经营现金流净流出6,990万元人民币。2020年前9个月的经营现金流净流出2.32亿元人民币(约3,420万美元),2019年同期为净流入760万元人民币。

2020年第三季度的资本支出为360万元人民币(约50万美元),而2019年第三季度的资本支出为2,240万元人民币,主要受新冠肺炎疫情影响。

2020年前9个月的资本支出为1,230万元人民币(约180万美元),与去年同期(6,960万元人民币)相比有所下降。

现金及现金等价物

截至2020年9月30日,美联教育拥有现金和现金等价物达1.292亿元人民币(约1,900万美元),而2020年6月30日为1.635亿元人民币。

展望

假设中国不会二次爆发新冠肺炎疫情,加上近期新冠疫苗的积极进展和中国经济的持续恢复,美联教育预计其交易量和盈利能力在2021年将逐步恢复到疫情前的水平。尽管此预期某程度上仍取决于成人英语教学市场的恢复速度,但公司2021财年的总收现目标预计为15-16亿元人民币(疫情爆发前的水平),预计其中约40-50%将由“立刻说”驱动。

公司目前为2021财年设定的目标为:税前息前折旧前摊销前利润为2亿元人民币,净利润为1.2亿元人民币。

美联教育认为,中国以至亚洲地区在语言、K12和未来技能培训方面有整合的趋势,公司将继续选择性考虑兼并和合资机会。

汇率

公司主要在中国经营业务,所有收入均以人民币计值。 本公告包含按指定汇率将某些人民币金额转换为美元,仅为方便读者之用。 除非另有说明,否则2020年第三季度和前9个月涉及人民币兑美元时均按人民币6.7896对1.00美元的汇率进行折算,即美国联邦储备委员会于2020年9月30日统计发布的汇率。这并不表示上述人民币金额已经或可能会在9月30日(按实际情况)以该汇率或以任何其他汇率兑换、变现或结算为美元。
