China Information Security Technology, Inc. Announces Two Police Geographic Information System Contract Wins


SHENZHEN CITY, China, June 12 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- China Information Security Technology, Inc., (Nasdaq: CPBY) (“China Information Security,” “CIST” or the “Company”), a leading provider of Information Security and 3S (Geographic Information Systems -- GIS, Global Positioning Systems -- GPS and Remote Sensing -- RS) services in China, today announced that the Company has been awarded two new contracts to construct the Police Geographic Information Systems (“PGIS”) for the An’xi City Police Bureau in Fujian Province and the Shenzhen City Traffic Police Bureau in Guangdong Province, with total contract values of US$1.55 million and US$2.38 million, respectively. These two contracts are estimated to be completed by the end of 2008.

China Information Security will provide integrated solutions under the new contracts, including its fundamental PGIS platform, editing, managing and maintenance of the comprehensive PGIS database, mapping and analysis of police information, and processing of police public data and thematic data. The Company provides PGIS customers with specialized GIS services, including specialized mapping, geographic positioning, messaging, automated police patrol area monitoring, patrol history tracking and work hour management. Successful implementation of the PGIS platform also provides an opportunity for the Company to deliver ongoing systems operation and support services, as well as application interface services that enable interaction between the PGIS platform and other infrastructure applications currently in use by the PGIS customer.

The contract win with the An’xi City Police Bureau is the Company’s first contract win in Eastern China’s Fujian Province.
