"Meibang" and "Yongbang" was born in Adventure World in Shirahama, Wakayama, Japan on September 13, 2008, and returned to Chengdu on February 26, 2013, starting their new lives in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Now, they have lived here for a year and successfully attracted many tourists, especially the "panda fans" from Japan.

In today's commemorative activity, the episode of Meibang and Yongbang 's happy lives since they returned Sichuan was showed on video. Yumiko Kajiwara, panda ambassador of Japan in 2012, expressed her congratulations, and Adventure World in Shirahama, Wakayama, Japan also offered congratulations for this activity. Kunihiko Kisamori, Japan's famous painter and Chief Editor of Ink Painting Friends, presented his elaborate panda-themed ink painting to the sponsor on behalf of the Japanese side.

This activity aims to attract Japanese tourists with Meibang and Yongbang, let more Japanese know about Sichuan and create more desire to visit charming and beautiful Sichuan. This activity was held during the 2014 Sichuan International Cultural Tourism Festival so as to let people from Japan's tourism industry and media enjoy rich tourism products and festive atmosphere in Sichuan.
