Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair 2015 Ends in Success With $US193 Million in New Business Transacted During the 4-Day Event

Attendees sign over 10,000 letters of intent to act as product distributors within China

YIWU, China, June 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/-- The Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair 2015 ended successfully on June 7. The four-day event's 176,000 visitors and buyers concluded trades valued at 1,179 million yuan (approx. US$193 million) and signed more than 10,000 letters of intent to act as distributors.

A large number of buyers from Yiwu, Shanghai, Chongqing, Tianjin and Hubei province in addition to 42 professional procurement teams took part in the event. The organizer counted 176,000 visitors and buyers including 44,100 professional buyers, among which 42,400 were from within China and 1,698 were from abroad. Of note, 1,360 professional market, shopping mall and supermarket buyers from Shanghai made the trip to the fair via high-speed rail and chartered buses. Buyers -- particularly, purchasing managers from e-commerce firms and Yiwu-based distributors -- showed strong interest in imported commodities and inked more than 10,000 letters of intent to become product distributors. Many exhibitors spoke highly of the positive operating environment. A survey of the exhibitors had 523 showing interest in establishing a footprint at Yiwu International Trade City and more than 95% of them expressing satisfaction with this year's event and indicating willingness to take part in next year's.

The exhibition focused on consumer goods from foreign manufacturers, including household products, foods and beverages, art and crafts, ornaments, garments and accessories, as well as products and services from both cross-border e-commerce operators and international trade service providers. Among the 1,500 exhibitors from 100 countries worldwide, those from countries along the "One Belt, One Road" route accounted for over 80%.

The organizer also held a variety of events and meetings, including the China Yiwu Import Trade Conference, Introduction to Export Products and Policy Environment in Countries along the "One Belt, One Road" Route, Import Cross-Border E-commerce Providers Networking Event, Training Meeting for Alibaba's Chinese Suppliers, Seminar for Distribution of Imported Products in China's Professional Markets, Presentation on Import Trade and Intellectual Property Rights and the inaugural meeting of the Home for Global Merchants in Yiwu. The series of events and meetings provided attendees with a platform for high-end communications and opinion exchanges.
